The IEEE student branch of UCSC proudly celebrates IEEE Day' 22 by stepping into the future iteration of the internet with the highlighted theme “Metaverse”. The event includes speeches from resourceful persons about Metaverse and an interactive Q&A session for the audience. We are eager to take you into the virtual world through VR and AR technologies with many fun activities including a treasure hunt and quizzes.
The metaverse is a massively scalable, persistent network of interconnected 3D virtual worlds focused on real-time interaction where people can work, socially interact, transact, play and even create. Metaverse is considered the next evolution of the internet which uses advanced virtualization and technologies such as AR, VR, Haptic Sensors, etc. to fully immerse the user into the virtual world. In the metaverse, people use avatars to represent themselves, communicate with each other and virtually build out the community.
